Yu Shang in San Rafael

I like this spot! They give high quality meals, they have a rich menu, The chief cook in that place is a specialist, I love very much eating all their food. The dishes are always good, the attitude towards the customers is good. I often eat in this place and I not even once was discontended. I highly recommend it.

This place has been here since August, 1980. One of the most legit sushi spots that also serves Chinese food, hidden gem for sure. Happy 40th guys!!!

Been coming here for years. They have Chinese food and Japanese (sushi) and both are very good. It's fun to sit around the chefs at the sushi bar and chat with them. Tell them what you like and they will suggest specialty rolls you might like. Friendly and energetic staff. Barely any wait times and prices are fair. If you haven't already I suggest to come here for the food and atmosphere.

Good food, but they stood out by loading the takeout with sides of extra condiments like chili oil, rice wine vinegar, Chinese hot mustard, and hoisin sauce. I mean, whoa.

The place seems pretty clean.

Stopped in for some chow mein to go, and it was ready in minutes. It was very good and reasonably priced. My wife loved it!

I went to this place by recommendation from a friend. I ordered Mongolian beef and i was surprised when I took the first bite the beef tasted like dish soap! the taste would not wash off. very disappointing! will never ever eat here again.

Big sushi rolls with creative toppings and plating, although they do feel slightly overpriced. The Chinese food is on point and pricing was appropriate for the portion size. Parking is limited in front on the street but if you turn right on the next block into the grocery store, go all the way through the parking lot to the exit, you can jump across the one way street into their back lot to park there while you eat.

Very elegant and welcoming place. They serve generous portions and for affordable rates. We liked the menu very much and the waiters were very amiable and explanatory. Highly recommended.

This place is my favored. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this place I constantly return again and again. The crew is very friendly and the cooking they offer is so delicious. I never decline to have a nice meal in this place. Highly recommended.

We came to this spot for lunch. we heard about this spot from many people. Well, {we were not disappointed|it was a winning|it was very nice. The staff members were very polite and we felt excellent. The meal was tasty. We loved this spot a lot and we will visit this place again. Keep it up.

Yu shang is amazing, I have been going there since I was a teenager. Always nice service, and even though I only go about once a year no because I've moved, they always remember me. The sushi is phenomenal, fresh, priced well, and made quickly.

Lovely service. Clean, delicious food. A warm welcoming always. Highly recommended. We always take to-go, but see many people dining in. Really happy, always! Vegetarian and meat options abound! Fabulous soup!

The sushi here is reasonable and fairly decent. The dragon rolls are probably the best. The Chinese foot had a Vietnamese twist to it, but is good enough for a rainy day. The fried menu it appears to be cooked on lard or some sort of vegetable lard because they feel heavy as you eat. The wings are very good and crispy but to sweet instead of spicy. The service is always great and very pleasant.

This is my first time at this place. I loved their service. The manager/head came to us and we didn't eat our shrimp dish because it has very distinct seafood smell, we didn't say anything and he asked me couple times if the food was good and I told him about the smell and he explained me why and still took the dish off of our bill... that's so nice of him... I never really have that good experience at Chinese restaurant. I'm truly impressed and appreciated their service. Overall the beef and veggie fried rice was good, tasty and fresh... they also added sprouts for me with no charge. The service was 5 star definitely. I loved it. Thank you.

Crab special, no mayo...anything! Ooooh so good! 😁 Everyone is very friendly, you are welcomed immediately upon entering. Seat yourself at the sushi bar, and order up as you are ready. The sushi chefs are quick to fill orders, and even make you something special if you're undecided. Love them! If you order from the kitchen, be prepared to wait because there's a whole restaurant they're filling orders for, too so it does take a while. **watch your bill when paying, I've caught adding errors, or being charged for items I didn't order.

The spot is excellent and broad, the food was yummy and the prices were very fair. rapidly, productive service and very attentive staff members. Recommended.

Good sushi, really good cucumber salad. Slightly small rolls, unagi is being used sparingly. Really cool atmosphere, great service for a Friday night. Presentation was considered for ever dish. Also good roll veriety. Would good again but it's not my favorite sushi place.
